Farmway 3

Location: No. 70 Pasir Ris Farmway 3, Saltwater Pond
Young people party when its the holidays. What do old fogies like us do? We go fishing! This newly re-opened pond is managed by Ed / Alex (of formerly FMV pond) / Ivan and one more dude that we didnt manage to get his name. Anyway, this is our second time down to the pond, with the first being on Christmas day itself on the pond’s offical first day of operations, but we didnt enjoy ourselves too much as Alex was very busy with everything and there were much too many anglers at the pond, leading to confusion / crossing of lines. We didnt fish very long on the first day, as we much rather having a lot of space to run around.
Having said that, being the old fogies that we are, we ventured down to the pond again on New Years Eve night to have an impromptu countdown with Desmond, Alex, Neil, Dave and GF who were at the pond. This time round, it was much more comfortable and relaxing with a reasonable amount of anglers around. Also, the familiar company also helped and most importantly, when initially we couldnt catch anything at all, Alex showed off his mighty pomfret catching skills and helped us strike some pomfrets continuously.  I must say,  Alex can really strike the pommies and Teresa fought them quite well. All in all, Teresa caught 4 pomfrets, with only 1 for me as I was busy helping her unhook, and keep the fish (whats new right?) Later on in the night, when most of the guys left already, I had another big take and managed to play with it for a while but sadly, while the fish was next to the edge, the hook came out and thus, we only had 5 pomfrets. There were some more extra fishes which some anglers passed to us as they didnt want to bring them back….
Not too bad a night, just that the mosquitoes were really biting, I had 9 bites and all are still pretty swollen even after 2 days. Teresa’ worse off, she got bitten just once on her lil toe and it’s humungonomous now. :s Will be back to catch more fishes! (With more insect repellant and mosquito coils)
